Rescuers discovered that around 20 people survived for ten days beneath the rubbles of a collapsed building in Real, Quezon. The survivors belonged to the people who seeked refuge in the two-storey building when a storm hit the Philippines last week. Mudslides buried it with more than 100 people in it. BBC News reported that President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo hailed the discovery of the survivors as a “miracle”.
